On 23 October 1956, a revolution against the Communist Hungarian People’s Republic began. It was the first major challenge to Soviet control within the Eastern Bloc. Soviet forces invaded the country on 4 November, ending the revolution by 10 November. https://ift.tt/2PPwYlg
