Thanks for the fantastic uploads- BUT- what ever possessed you to hire that awful american presenter. He ruins everything. Were there really no british actors available BRITISH Pathé?
Hi crafiesue – thanks for your comment. We’ve had quite a few people asking why our archive is being represented by an American. Our “British Pathé” name is a bit arbitrary. Our roots really lie in France and French cinema, and the company was always a global news organisation, with cameramen travelling throughout the world. Having Indy present these films is a way for us to emphasise that we are not just an archive full of British newsreels. Indeed, there are tens of thousands of American news stories in our collection. But we certainly take into consideration the thoughts of our viewers. All best, BP
